DBCF and BUSD partnership

The Byron Union School District (BUSD) and the Discovery Bay Community Foundation (DBCF) have joined forces to bring special-needs and general education students together through a nationwide program called the Circle of Friends .

The mission of Circle of Friends is to provide inclusion for students with disabilities on school campuses by establishing the understanding and acceptance of differences, building genuine friendships, decreasing bullying and making a significant social impact within communities nationwide.

Circle of Friends (CoF) believes that people are people. Yes, we have our differences, but we also have a lot in common. What’s important to remember is that we all matter, and we all add value. An education that reinforces this truth—from a young age—is vital for shedding insecurity, gaining confidence, and cultivating respect and kindness towards others…propelling us into our best life!

Our address

We are located along the beautiful California delta waterways, at the east end of Contra Costa County. We serve the Discovery Bay and Byron communities, and represent the Byron Union and Liberty Union School Districts.
