Kids Fishing Derby

Free Event! Two Dates! Choose One!

Every year the Discovery Bay Community Foundation hosts a FREE family fishing derby for all kids 15 years of age and under, encouraging parents to bring their kids to the Discovery Bay Marina for a great outdoor family experience. There is no cost to participate; it's just an evening of fun and fishing, with a barbecue on the side!
*Please only register for ONE date as we are limited to the number of kids for each date.

We will be holding one more FREE fishing derby outing for all our kids at the Discovery Bay Yacht Harbor at 5901 Marina Rd. We have two dates available - Tuesday, July 16th, and Thursday, August 15th! This event is for all Discovery Bay / Byron kids and their families. The times will be from 6:00PM-8:30PM.

We will take the first 50 registered students for each day. All children must be accompanied by a parent and MUST bring and wear a certified life vest when fishing from the dock or they will not be able to fish. Open to anyone 15 years of age and under. Bait will be provided by DBCF for each student.
We will have a FREE BBQ including hot dogs and chips for all participants graciously provided by the Boardwalk Grill.

This activity is one of the DBCF Youth & Teen Outreach Programs made possible by generous community donations and fund raising events.

ABOUT DBCF EVENTS

The purpose for events hosted by or sponsored by the Discovery Bay Community Foundation is to raise funds for projects that support our community. Some event proceeds will be delegated to specific programs, and others will be determined for distribution by the Foundation. We are currently focusing our discretionary grantmaking on a limited number of programs and organizations for the next two years; teen and youth outreach and water and safety programs. As the Discovery Bay Community Foundation continues to grow, we will add programs that are of benefit and value to our community.
