Ways to Donate
Anyone can donate to the Discovery Bay Community Foundation. There are many options: you can become a DBCF Member for a one-time (or annual) donation of $60, and your contribution will be included in our discretionary funds dedicated to distribution one of our grant programs.

Personal attention:
We work with you individually to ensure that your giving does what you want it to do. You can choose to be involved in selecting grant recipients, or you can rely on the expertise of our directors to make grants from your fund that reflect your interests and concerns. We can help you customize your giving in other ways, such as making grants anonymously or identifying other donors to join you in supporting a special project.
Informed Grantmaking:
If you already know which organizations you want to support, we ensure that grants from your fund are distributed efficiently. We will also make sure that each organization you recommend is a qualified nonprofit group that can use the grant as you intend. Many people with funds at the Foundation choose to work with the Foundation’s Directors to help them make their charitable decisions.
Simplicity:
By working with us, you eliminate most administrative chores. Discovery Bay Community Foundation prepares start-up documentation, handles complicated non-cash gifts, monitors investments, and provides you with reports about your funds.
Proven stewardship:
The Discovery Bay Community Foundation is governed by a board of directors who are civic leaders with many years of experience and involvement in Discovery Bay community issues. The Foundation currently manages approximately $50,000 in assets and growing. The Foundation board of directors the investment of assets entrusted to us by working with professional money managers and accountants.
Tax advantage:
The Discovery Bay Community Foundation is a public charity which means that our donors benefit from the most favorable tax deductions available under IRS regulations. Compare charitable options.
Recognition:
You may name your fund as you choose-after yourself or your family, to honor someone, or to highlight an issue you care deeply about. All grants from your fund will be made in the name of the fund you have established, or, if you choose, we can make grants anonymously.
Accountability:
At any time, with a phone call or e-mail, you have access to the status of your fund. You can see how much is available for grants, a record of past and pending grants, and a history of contributions made to your fund. We also send out annual statements.

We are located along the beautiful California delta waterways, at the east end of Contra Costa County. We serve the Discovery Bay and Byron communities, and represent the Byron Union and Liberty Union School Districts.
